Moroccan Boucherouite Wool Rug K6
Moroccan Boucherouite Wool Rug K6
This is a very exciting example of the skill and primitive style of rug woven by the Berber tribe of Morocco. Woven by female weavers in often modest households, these rugs are a method of incorporating discarded scraps of cotton, nylon and wool, and very frequently, retired clothing.
This rug features vibrant concentric diamonds that seem to pulsate on a striking background of varying shades of red, interspersed with abstract motifs and areas of dense patterning. Its color, motif and size make it perfect for anchoring a reading nook or conversation area.
Good condition. However, as with most antique and vintage items, slight imperfections are inherent and wear is consistent with age. Minor fading, which, in our opinion, only adds to the charm and variance in tones.
Dimensions: 7'11" x 4'3", not including fringe.
